Boxcryptor Free: Basic License for First-Timers
Using our basic version of the Boxcryptor software is free for private use and can be connected to one cloud storage provider of your choice right after installation. You can access your encrypted data from up to two devices, so you have everything available not only on your PC or Mac, but also on your mobile devices, like your smartphone or tablet computer. Furthermore, there is no “encryption light”. Boxcryptor Free complies with highest standards of data protection and allows optional two-factor authentication (2FA), already.

Boxcryptor Personal: Cloud Security for Private Users
If you want to connect more than one cloud provider or more than two devices to your Boxcryptor account for private use, Boxcryptor Personal is the perfect choice: No more limits to the number of providers or devices. You can enable the optional filename encryption, so nobody but you, knows of the content you are saving online. Thus, documents of extraordinary importance like contracts and other personal data remains highly secured. All benefits of Boxcryptor Free remain valid, of course. In addition, you may contact our support team via email complementary to community support.

Boxcryptor Business: Solution for Self-Employed Entrepreneurs
With Boxcryptor Business you are, contrary to the Personal license, allowed to encrypt data, used for commercial purposes, as well. Furthermore, as a special feature it enables you to create, manage, and share files within, user groups, thus simplifying workflows between you and your partners. Access management via single user permissions becomes obsolete in many use cases. Boxcryptor protects notes, contacts, and business contracts reliably from unauthorized access. Additionally, your support requests will be handled by our support team with a higher priority. Thereby latencies are reduced to a minimum.

Boxcryptor Company: Data Protection for Small and Medium-Sized Companies
Our product for small and medium-sized businesses, up to 50 users enables you to individually scale the number of licenses, in steps of five. Starting with at least five users, you are getting a whole bunch of extended administrative functions – in addition to the features of Boxcryptor Business. The optional master key policy, for example, enables you to define a business-wide master password, protecting you against potential loss of individual user passwords. You remain in full control over all business data: like the single-user licenses’ private keys, we do never gain access to any of your files. Internal policies and Boxcryptor-related auditing are additional features of the Company license, as well as easy user management via optional integration of Azure Active Directory.
